Of course my Dads office was different. He was the boss so he got to enjoy the perks of having his own office. No boring modular office furniture in there! It seemed so big and impressive. I remember a big leather studded chair and tall wall shelves full of important looking books and figurines. Plenty of tables and chairs, and even a couch. There were always stacks of file folders and papers on his desk that made me feel like I was in a very important place. We used to hide under his desk, or behind the large plants by the window. We could imagine that we were almost anyone in that place. But usually it was enough to know that Dad would protect us from anything as dreary as ordinary work tasks. I admit, it was a charmed youth! But, oh how the times have changed!
